I work with Carl's lovely daughter Patti and I am so sorry to hear about Carl's death.  My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family during this time and during your journey of grief as the days go by.  He sounds like a wonderful man.  I am sure he has to be to have raised such a well rounded, down to earth, friendly, caring daughter named Patti.  Warmest Wishes, Diane Kemp

I have such fond memories of the past three winters spent in Florida at Pioneer Village.
Mr. Embry was first introduced to me by my Uncle & Aunt, Donald & Bonnie Richards. They often would take him places & sometimes I tagged along. It was always a wonderful experience. I've tossed corn hole bags with him at Aunt Margaret & Uncle Jack Pogue's place in Pioneer village. He was so much fun; but, more than that he was a very classy individual. Always the Gentleman, It didn't take me long to find in him a friend. Amazingly enough, I was raised on a farm in Grayson County KY, not far from Mr. Carl's hometown. I absolutely loved, Mr. Carl. I could have sat and listened all day long to his stories of days long gone & how he loved his precious wife who no longer recognized him. It broke my heart to hear him talk of it; however, it reaffirmed my faith in the sanctity of marriage that even though she didn't know him anymore, the love that shone out of his eyes when he spoke of his beautiful wife was there for everyone to see. I didn't go down this year and I miss it so bad.
My sweet Mother is very ill & I just couldn't leave KY. We sold our place down there last year knowing we probably wouldn't get to go down this year; however, we love & miss our friends in Pioneer Village, especially Mr. Carl. Heaven is getting sweeter all the time, another precious friend & angel will be there to greet us. Mr. Carl's family has my deepest sympathy. We never get ready to give our loved ones up, no matter what age. May our heavenly father wrap you in his arms of love, and bring to you a peace that will surpass all understanding.
In Christian Love,
Charlene Richards Comer

My father-in-law Frank Craig, a resident of Dogwood Estates, really came to like Mr. Embry.  He is deeply saddened by the loss.  We want to express our sympathy in your loss.  May God Bless you all.

I am sorry to hear about your loss.  I raised my childred on Raines Ave.  We alway's loved to stop and say hi to Mr. Carl.  The children alway's loved to stop an visit him and when they would come home they would tell Mr. Carl stories.  Carl had a way about him in that he could make you feel like he was so happy to see you.  Of course we were always happy to see him too.  He will always be loved by the Maddox's and will be sadly missed.
