Newell Funeral Home continually strives to offer more value to the families we service and community in which we live in. Friends and Family can view the memorial tribute videos on-line, it will also be displayed during visitation and funerals at both Newell Funeral Home locations in Mount Vernon and Waltonville. Photo memorial boards are still available for use at Newell Funeral Home as well.

There are many people who were born and raised in Jefferson County who are still very close to their roots, but live far away and cannot make it back to this area to attend their loved one's or friends services. Many Jefferson County residents move to Florida for the winter, relocate due to their career or family, even our local military service men and woman who are stationed on the other side of the world can access our memorial tribute videos, obituaries or leave on-line condolences at our website www.newellfuneralhome.com. Not to mention we have many residents in Jefferson County who are homebound.

Personal presence of friends and family should never be replaced by on-line condolences or viewing of our online memorial tribute video - but for those who are far away that cannot travel, they have an option to reach out to their friends and families and to take part in a small portion of the funeral services and to let families we service know they are thinking of them. Local residents also take part in sharing thoughts of their loved one. When someone experiences a lost, stories shared from friends and family is a big part of the healing process.

If you click on the Obituaries Tab on our home page you will be directed to our current listings of obituaries.  You will notice at the bottom of most obituaries CLICK HERE TO VIEW A VIDEO TRIBUTE - click on that link and you can view a sampling of our memorial tribute videos.    If an obituary does not offer this option, it is because the family chose not to have a video made for their loved one.  Memorial Tribute Videos are free to the families we service.  We have several memorial tribute videos available at the funeral home for your viewing if you would like to stop by to view them.  No appointment is needed. If Funeral Director Jason Newell is not at the funeral home, chances are, he is at his residence located directly behind the funeral home.  The Newell family has lived at the Funeral Home since December 2005 to be more accessible to families of Jefferson County.
